i was going to write of my never ending depression that is being at school and not with my dog and my drums, but then i remembered i have this nifty journal that is private that i used to write in constantly. so im gonna go back to that so ya’ll don’t have to hear the same ‘im so bummed i have to get up early and i want my dog’ thing over and over. anyway, had a great weekend with frank. ate some burritos, played a gig, and fell asleep watching star wars on tv with frank. he loved it too, what an awesome puppy (i love him!! :)

beatlesneveroutofstyle:

Paul McCartney sent Ringo Starr a postcard on January 31st 1969 (the day after the band’s performance on the roof of Apple Studios) saying: “You are the greatest drummer in the world. Really.”

Reminds me of when I play with Joe Camerlengo (This Is My Suitcase) and he says “nice one, dingo!” lol not really though. This is way cool though.

The Beatles - Martha My Dear

“She was a dear pet of mine. I remember John being amazed to see me being so loving to an animal. He said, ‘I’ve never seen you like that before.’ I’ve since thought, you know, he wouldn’t have. It’s only when you’re cuddling around with a dog that you’re in that mode, and she was a very cuddly dog. […] It’s a communication of some sort of affection but in a slightly abstract way - ‘You silly girl, look what you’ve done,’ all that sort of stuff. These songs grow. Whereas it would appear to anybody else to be a song to a girl called Martha, it’s actually a dog, and our relationship was platonic, believe me.” - Paul McCartney

mmmhhhmmmmm

new song, produced by joe camerlengo. it’s free too! thanks.. spread it around..

life

i had a real good weekend. i rehearsed friday with evan and joe, we just practiced for the march 29th 2012 show (joe’s birthday) and then saturday i spent the day rehearsing with mark and john. sunday i woke up and rehearsed with my sister for her album…

it was solid. i feel like i’ve learned so much about production this year, i always used to just want to be a drummer, then i slowly started noticing hand claps and little percussion-y things and now it’s like, fuck, i’ll produce it. haha. it’s cool, i feel as my ears grow more and more it just gets more fun. like i was debating with my sister if her song should have french horn or guitar playing this solo part..

it’s good to have that balance, really fun, happy, enjoyable weekend….surround by literally the worst thing ever, school. the more i think of it though, the more i realize this and next year will probably be the shittiest of my life. like things will be chill after that. but for now fuck everyone.

love you to. (haha) d

literally the best love song ever written? probably…

i came home yesterday and literally felt so happy just sitting with frank, then i got to drum.. it was real cool. i just wish the other 26 days of the month didn’t usually suck. oh well.

yup yup, very good song. sounds robert johnson-y, love the clavs and slide guitar..depressing though..

i haven’t listened to this album in forever, but i put it on cuz i wanted dylan and…jesus christ the memories associated with this one..it’s like impossible to listen to, and yet it’s like the greatest album ever….jesus.

such a sad, lonely, ‘i want to die but i’ll make it album.’
